News Flash! Star Wars: The High Republic ends on July 30th with The Finale comic special

Hello there,

It's my birthday and also a bank holiday here in the UK. Nice of them to give folk a day off to celebrate my birth.

Talking about Celebrations, on the other side of the Earth, a little news dropped about an upcoming comic from yours truly.

Yesterday, I posted this on Bluesky:

It was a little cheeky as, while it is the last issue of Fear of the Jedi, I knew it wasn’t really the end.

As revealed on the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at Star Wars Celebration Tokyo just a few short hours ago, Star Wars: The High Republic - The Finale comes out July 30th from Marvel comics.

Subtitled The Beacon, this special comic is written by me with art by Marika Cresta and marks the last part of the initiative, the final piece of the puzzle that started with Light of the Jedi in 2021.

Two covers have been revealed, the main cover by Phil Noto and the variant by Ario Anindito who was there at the beginning with me with Star Wars: The High Republic #1.

Here’s the solicit:

THE END OF THE BEGINNING! The final battle between the Jedi and the Nihil has been fought, sacrifices have been made and the dust settles. As friends and allies gather for one last celebration, a decision is made, and a fate sealed. Guest-starring faces from across the best-selling multimedia initiative. All roads lead to Dalna.

So, that’s it. The final chapter of Keeve and Sskeer’s story, for real this time, completing the Marvel run. 41 issues in total. Wow! One thing for certain, it’s going to be emotional.

I’m sure I will write more about my feelings as we reach the end, but until then we still have this final issue to finish!

And of course, as we’ve teased, The Finale may be the final word on the initiative, but it’s definitely not the end of The High Republic in general….
