A perfect Sunday with...Paul Fry
The Leopard from Lime Street, guilty pleasures and hidden Night of the Slasher nods!
Every week, a top writer, artist, actor or creator reveals how they’d fill their perfect Sunday, sharing their favourite comfort reads, movies, food… anything that would make their weekend great.
Today, it's the turn of Paul Fry, artist and co-creator of my current Magma comic, Night of the Slashers #2!
Paul's perfect Sunday… brunch
Full English, hold the black pudding. And a proper cup of tea!
Paul's perfect Sunday… read
Just picked up a collection of The Leopard from Lime Street—a fun, Spider-Man-esque story that used to run in Buster when I was a kid. Funnily enough, I actually did read it on a Sunday!
Paul's perfect Sunday… comic
The original Secret Wars from Marvel—classic battles, great characters, and all the nostalgia.
Paul's perfect Sunday… movie
I'd have to go with the classics: Alien, Aliens, Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Thing. But if we're talking guilty pleasures, it's gotta be something eighties—from Beverly Hills Cop to Silver Bullet... maybe even Overboard?!
Paul's perfect Sunday... TV binge
Spartacus is always a thrill, but lately, it's been Law & Order: SVU keeping me hooked.
Paul's perfect Sunday… podcast
Not much of a podcast listener, but when I do, it's The Unexplained with Howard Hughes.
What can I say—I'm a sci-fi and horror fan!
Maybe it's all real!
Paul's perfect Sunday… album
Pearl Jam's Ten is pretty much perfect, as is Electric by The Cult. Throw in some Monster Magnet, and I'm set.
Fun fact: Night of the Slashers # 2 even has a nod to Monster Magnet, for those in the know!
Paul's perfect Sunday… treat
Sunday roast with my partner Clare, followed by apple crumble with cream—who could resist? With a Full English for brunch, no wonder I'm putting on the pounds!
Night of the Slashers #2 is out on 20th November from Magma Comix.
Face the righteous fury of THE HOLY TERROR!
Survive the creeping horror of THE NIGHT MAYOR!
