A perfect Sunday with...S.T. Gibson

Egg benedict, Calvin & Hobbes and heading back to Bridgerton

A perfect Sunday with...S.T. Gibson

Every week, a top writer, artist or creator reveals how they’d fill their perfect Sunday, sharing their favourite comfort reads, movies, food… anything that would make their weekend great.

Today, to celebrate the wonder that is Evocation, it's the turn of author S.T. Gibson.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… brunch

My platonic ideal of brunch has to be eggs Benedict Florentine with sautéed spinach! It’s such a comforting dish but it always feels a little indulgent as well.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… read

I enjoy reading articles or poetry on weekend mornings; something short and digestible that is still meaningful to me.

I would probably choose to read some Rainer Maria Rilke if I was in a meditative mindset, or maybe some Fredrico Garcia Lorca if I wanted something a bit more surreal.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… comic

I grew up reading Calvin and Hobbes comics to my younger brother, and we have so many inside jokes that tie into those comics. I think they’re absolutely wonderful, and still funny and wistful after all these years.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… movie

I enjoy historical dramas, and one of my current favourites is Colette.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday... TV binge

Bridgerton is such a comfort watch for me! Season two, following Anthony and Kate’s love story, is my favourite, and I’m so looking forward to season three.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… podcast

My favourite way to keep up with publishing news and trends is podcasts, and right now my two favourites are Publishing Rodeo and Print Run.

‎Publishing Rodeo: The Good, The Bad, and the Bloody Ugly on Apple Podcasts
‎Arts · 2024

S.T.'s perfect Sunday… album

I’m a die-hard Fleetwood Mac fan, and the album I find the most magical (if I can only choose one!) has got to be Tango In the Night.

S.T.’s perfect Sunday… treat

There’s a local Italian bakery a few blocks from my house, and I love walking past the flowering trees in the neighbourhood to go pick up an iced coffee and a breakfast pastry. The walk is just as much a treat as the pastry is!

Evocation by S.T. Gibson is out now from Angry Robot.

The Devil knows your name, David Aristarkhov.

As a teen, David Aristarkhov was a psychic prodigy, operating under the shadow of his oppressive occultist father. Now, years after his father’s death and rapidly approaching his thirtieth birthday, he is content with the high-powered life he’s curated as a Boston attorney, moonlighting as a powerful medium for his secret society.

But with power comes a price, and the Devil has come to collect on an ancestral deal. David’s days are numbered, and death looms at his door.

Reluctantly, he reaches out to the only person he’s ever trusted, his ex-boyfriend and secret Society rival Rhys, for help. However, the only way to get to Rhys is through his wife, Moira. Thrust into each other’s care, emotions once buried deep resurface, and the trio race to figure out their feelings for one another before the Devil steals David away for good…

The first book in a spellbinding and vibrant new series from The Sunday Times bestselling author of A Dowry of Blood.
